Myth or Fact?

I already had COVID-19, so I don’t need the vaccine.

Fact is – even if you had COVID-19, you can get it again. Getting vaccinated is the safer and more dependable way to build immunity to COVID-19.

Here is a list of studies and sources to reference on the vaccine’s effectiveness against serious illness.

  • Vaccines can offer a more reliable and effective immune boost than a natural infection can (CDC).
  • People who’ve been infected with the coronavirus tend to have lower levels of antibodies than those who’ve been vaccinated (CDC).
  • Studies also suggest that the antibodies produced after vaccination tend to remain at protective levels for longer than those produced with a natural infection (CDC).
