Fact is – the COVID-19 vaccine is proven to reduce the risk of serious disease, hospitalization, and death.

Here is a list of studies and sources to reference on the vaccines’ effectiveness against serious illness.

  • Vaccines were highly effective under real-world conditions in preventing symptomatic COVID-19 in health care personnel, including those at risk for severe COVID-19 and those in racial and ethnic groups that have been disproportionately affected by the pandemic (NEJM, 2021).
  • According to the CDC, vaccines significantly reduce the risk for COVID-19–associated hospitalization in older adults and, in turn, may reduce post-COVID conditions and deaths (CDC, 2022).
